Not your usual tourism campaign.

The brief? Use a narrative genre to explore the values and identity of a small Catalan town.

The town? Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, birthplace of cava — where the most important local festival stars… a phylloxera.

Our response? A playful, affectionate mockery of a fascinating, ritualistic, almost cult-like way of seeing life.
Watching how they celebrate a plague that once destroyed their vineyards, we arrived at Filoxerismo: a religion-ish way of living that runs through the piece, revealing why Sant Sadurní is so special. It became a philosophy we lived during production — one the people of the town unknowingly taught us to embrace.

With this project, I finally got to make the mockumentary I’d always dreamed of. Those small details — the bits that probably shouldn’t have made the cut — ended up shining the most, turning an ironic piece into a surprisingly moving ode to resilience.
